Waffle Frolic Vocab —> Take note, there will be a quiz at the end!!! Waffle Frolic- The type of party Thomas Jefferson would throw in the 18th century.  When the 3rd U.S. President returned from a trip to Belgium with a waffle iron, he decided to throw a huge shindig to introduce it to the people.  His guests would drink liberally, dance, and eat waffles! Single Size Waffle- Half iron-size waffle, approx. 4x6” Twin Waffle- Full iron-size waffle, approx. 8x6” Grilled Cheese- Well, this is not an original frolic folly, but ours are worthy of explanation.  We serve a havarti and cheddar blend or vegan “Daiya cheese” on batard bread (not a waffle) with a gajillion choices of veggies and protein.  Mmmmm, especially with our homemade tomato soup.  Like MOM! Agave- Also not original, but this topping is a vegan-friendly sweetener made from the same plant as tequila, the agave azul Compote- Frolic compotes are special sauces made purely from boiled down berries, peaches, and other seasonal fruits Book Exchange- Our extraordinary take-a-book, leave-a-book program is located on the 2nd floor.  Here you can bring in one, five, or even fifty books and leave with just as many new reading treasures! Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich- Two scoops of Ciao Bella gelato sandwiched between a twin waffle which is then absolutely covered in chocolate and caramel sauce, whip cream, and powder sugar.  Does heaven exist?  Well, when you eat this it does! Vegan/Gluten-Free Waffle- Waffle made with Bob’s Red Mill All-Purpose Gluten-Free Flour, Ener-G egg replacer, soy milk, and other gluten allergy/vegan sensitive ingredients Toppings- These are the variety of sweet, hearty, and savory garnishes available for Frolickers to put on their waffles.  We cannot put any toppings into a waffle, but, trust us, they’re just as good smothered on top with a dollop of whip cream and drizzle of syrup Anything else you have questions about?!  Let us know!  We love to talk, we love to learn, and we love our frolickers!
