Hey Frolickers!

We hope no one blew away this weekend!  Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Mommy Frolickers and congratulations to all our Ithaca College and Cornell friends who have finished classes and are just a few short, easy (sshhha, right) exams away from the real world!

So there are a few new and exciting changes taking place at “The Lic.”  Thank you to everyone who was thoughtful enough to make suggestions, offer comments, and share their wisdom to make our little shop and little better.

Starting this week, and from now on, we will be offering our special special Cornbread Chili Waffle everyday, along with waffles topped with eggs and bacon!  Can I get a woot for savory waffles?! 

Speaking of savory waffles, our new, talented chef extraordinaire Marc is working daily on new specials.  In the works are rosemary waffles (with a surprise topping TBA), cheddar cheese and chive waffles, and soooo much more.  Mark is also developing sweet, sinful dessert sandwiches, a banana’s foster inspired compote, and new flavored syrups to add excitement to our waffle wonderland. Stay tuned for a profile post on Mark and stop by often to see what we have in store for you!

And in case you missed it these past few weeks, our whip cream has become creamer, our sandwiches crispier, our barista skills more fine-tuned, our presentation more pleasing, our donuts more delicate, and our compotes more compot-y (aka better texture, better color, and more yum for your tum).

In anticipation of the coming crazy graduation and festival weekends, we’ve added some metal tables for outdoor enjoyment, tall tables with comfy bar stools upstairs, and more tables will be temporarily replacing the leather couch soon.  Say “see you in a few” to the comfy couch and hello to more room for you and your family to relax, eat, and enjoy a morning frolic!
